And our boys?  Well, boys will be boys...

For young males, wrestling is early practice for when they will need to assert their dominance within the herd as adults.  This wrestling can be fun to watch but should be monitored carefully as the young males grow.  "Playing" the same games as adults can be potentially harmful.  It's a good idea to cut their fighting teeth once they've stared to grow in so they don't end up slicing each other or actually gelding their rival.  (See our "About Alpacas" web page for an image of an alpaca mouth.  This particular male had his fighting teeth trimmed once already but will require to have his fighting teeth trimmed again).
